It’s time to meet another moggy whose human has kindly provided a bio and some photos to to the blog for a feature. This fortnight, we’re saying “Hello!” to:
Luna is a five year old ginger and white lady cat who lives with roller derby fanatic Anna, Anna’s husband, newborn (human) baby brother and Luna’s kitten Korra. Since giving birth to her first litter, Luna has been spayed, but she had quite the ordeal prior to her operation, leading to vets and her humans thinking she was infertile.
Oh no, not stitches again!
Luna spends her time both indoors and outdoors and the ordeal began when she was out and about just under the age of one. She was all set for her spaying when she encountered (the family assume) a fox and was bitten. Luna did not enjoy living with stitches following the operation for the bite, and so the humans decided that they would put the spaying off to let her recover.
As often happens in life, things kept being put off and having been in and out of season several times with no kittens, both the vet and the family assumed that Luna was infertile.
Of course cats like to prove humans wrong at all times, and so Luna fell pregnant and gave birth to kittens not long after. Of the litter she produced, only Korra remains with the family, and we’ll be featuring her on the blog in the future, too!
Nope, you can’t see Korra until her very own feature.
Luna was found on Gumtree by Anna and her husband while they were away on their honeymoon. As soon as they returned home, they picked her up and added her to their new family. Luna is named after the character Luna Lovegood from the Harry Potter series. Her whole litter were, in fact, named after Harry Potter characters.
Luna, affectionately known as Lunalicious, Madam, Fusspot or Little One, is a big softy but can be rather bossy. She doesn’t tend to like new people, but is gaining courage and no longer runs to hide from strangers. She likes to eat wet food and is very partial to chicken and mayo. Her favourite toy is currently a little catnip fish, and she lives a life of luxury choosing to sleep either on the guest bed or the heated blanket!
“I’m not bossy!”
Luna can usually be found either asleep, or prowling her territory as Anna writes and works on her art work. Having Luna and Korra around help Anna feel as though she has some company and gives her someone to talk to.
A most excellent spot to survey the land.
Don’t forget to keep a lookout in the coming weeks, as Luna’s daughter Korra will be featured, along with many other cats we’ve had contact the blog.
