Note: This is not an affiliation post – I have subscribed to the box and wanted to share with you the wonders inside!
It might be the second week of January now, but I’ve still not told you about all the adventures I got up to over Christmas. One of those adventures was a little more homely, and involved opening a new subscription box that arrived through the post.
I’ve signed up to various subscription boxes for the best part of two years now but prior to this one, they have all been book related. As you can imagine, along with the books I have that aren’t from these boxes, I have a HUGE ‘to read’ pile, so I decided that I’d switch it up and try the Cat Lady Box this time.
Cat Lady Box describe themselves as the ‘monthly box for cat ladies and their cats’ delivering ‘a monthly box of unique and exclusive cat lady items.’ They offer two variations on their box – CatLadyBox, which is items just for the human, or the CRAZY CatLadyBox, which adds in an extra two items for cats!
I signed up for CRAZY CatLadyBox, knowing that the kitties would never forgive me if I got a box just for myself, and my first box arrived on the 3rd January. Laser and McLaren were immediately upon it, sniffing the sides and trying to paw their way inside. I thought to myself ‘there must be something good inside’ and I wasn’t wrong.
The first items dragged out were the two cat toys, ceremoniously torn from the box before I even had a chance to open it fully. Both of these toys have been a hit ever since and I find them in various places (including the water bowl?!) every time I come home from work. The ‘meow’ cat nip kicker is a firm favourite of Laser’s. The Eskimeow toy has had many a bath, and spends 99% of it’s time on the radiator overnight, before mysteriously making it’s way back to the water bowl while I’m at work.
Next up was a ‘meow’ for myself. This metal hanger is the perfect little decoration for a cat lover and I’m going to add it to my Cat Wall in the cats bedroom (have I told you guys about the wall yet?!).
The third item I pulled from the box (as Laser was trying her best to shred the paper that wrapped the gifts) was a t-shirt. If you haven’t guessed by now, the theme of the box is ‘meow’. I love this t-shirt, it’s one of my favourite colours for t-shirts and will be purrfect to wear for visits to the cat cafe!
The last item was an absolutely adorable wool beanie. I LOVE wooly hats, even though I don’t wear them all that much anymore. I have a huge collection and this is definitely a new firm favourite. It has ‘meow’ written on both sides and I’m going to have to start wearing it regularly because it’s just so me!
Along with all these beautiful items, there was an art card, which will also be going on the Cat Wall. On the back of the card were all the details about the box and the items that you should find inside. As a seasoned subscription box opener, I’ve always made sure to look at the cards last, so that the gifts are a surprise as I pull them out!
In all, I think this was a great box. It’s a little more expensive than other boxes I have ordered in the past, but for most of them the main item has been the book and the other items are all small, cheap things, so in all, the boxes work out about right for their value.
And on top of all this? Well the cats (Laser, at least) got an awesome box they can sit in!
